The Anthologist Manifesto
Shared Worlds
Anthologist is a community for creating and sharing new universes. This is a place where worldbuilders, editors, and readers breathe life into stories that would otherwise stay locked away in the land of imagination.
We've all been struck by a creative spark only to have the idea wither away because we couldn't or didn't act on it in those moments. Anthologist is where that spark can ignite a universe - even if you only have a few minutes a week to nurture it. By sharing these worlds, we build a library of imagination that grows with every new reader and every new idea.
The Pulp Revival
I grew up on pulp anthologies, pouring over dark fantasy and sci-fi stories from a small children's annex in the A.V. Sorensen Library in Omaha, Nebraska. For me, these stories were a gateway to broader worlds and other forms of writing. Today, that short-form format is economically quiet, but I believe the hunger for this type of storytelling still exist.
Anthologist is bringing back the fresh bite-sized adventure set in worlds that you create. No 800-page commitments. No guilt for leaving a book unfinished. Just fresh stories, delivered regularly, to keep you exploring the "What Ifs" without waiting years for a sequel.
Living Universes
A universe shouldn't be static. On this platform, worlds evolve based on a growing canon curated by editors.
When you participate, you help our universes grow. Your interests, your ideas, and your votes help shape the history of the worlds you love, making every story part of a larger, breathing chronicle.
The Chef and the Cook
We believe in being sincere about our tools and how they are used. In this kitchen, you are the Chef. You define the flavor, the vision, and the soul of the universe.
The LLMs creating the stories are the Cooks. They handle the labor of the kitchen, allowing you to focus on the menu. Our goal is to stoke your passion for creative storytelling by giving you a kitchen where that fire can burn.
